How long does a boiler last?

Many boilers last 15 to 20 years or more, and some well-maintained cast iron boilers last longer. Annual service, water quality and installation all affect lifespan.

What is the difference between a boiler and a furnace?

A boiler heats water and circulates hot water or steam through radiators, baseboards or radiant floors. A furnace heats air and blows it through ductwork. Boilers are common in older New England homes and are known for quiet, even heat.

What is a combi boiler?

A combination (combi) boiler heats your home and also provides on-demand hot water for showers and faucets, replacing a separate water heater with one compact unit.

Are there rebates for a new boiler?

In New Hampshire, Liberty and Unitil natural gas customers may qualify for NHSaves rebates of $1,000 to $1,500 on qualifying high-efficiency boilers.
