Which plan is right for you?

Basic suits newer equipment that only needs a yearly check-up of one system. Standard is the right fit for most homes: for $50 more than Basic you get both a spring A/C and a fall heating tune-up, priority service, no diagnostic fee on repair calls and an extra 5% off repairs. Premium is built for systems 10 years or older, where repairs are more likely. A no-charge service call, up to $500 a year in parts coverage and 20% off repairs can easily outweigh the extra cost after a single breakdown.

Why It Matters

With a Plan vs. Without One

Skipping maintenance doesn’t save money. It moves the cost to higher energy bills, bigger repairs and an earlier replacement. Here’s what the industry numbers show.

Without a plan

  • Higher energy bills. Dirty coils and worn parts make the system work harder. Maintained systems run an estimated 15–25% more efficiently.
  • Bigger surprise repairs. Small problems like a weak capacitor or clogged drain can turn into emergency calls or a failed compressor.
  • Full price, and wait your turn when your system breaks down on the hottest or coldest day of the year.
  • Shorter equipment life, often 10–12 years before replacement.
  • Warranty risk. Many manufacturers require documented annual maintenance to honor warranty claims.

With a Just Wright plan

  • Runs at peak efficiency. Coils cleaned, airflow checked and controls adjusted every spring and fall.
  • Problems caught early, when they’re smaller and cheaper to fix. Our 20-point checklists cover electrical, drainage, refrigerant lines and safety controls.
  • 10–20% off every repair, plus priority scheduling on Standard and Premium, so you’re not waiting behind everyone else.
  • Longer equipment life, often 15–20 years with regular service.
  • A maintenance record from a professional every year, which helps if you ever need a warranty claim.

Typical system lifespan

Without regular maintenance
10–12 years
With annual maintenance
15–20 years
With new systems often costing $5,000–$12,000, a few extra years of life is the biggest saving of all.

What could one year cost you?

Pick a scenario to compare your costs with and without a plan.

Without a plan$2,160

$1,800 repair at full price + $360 est. extra energy cost

With Basic$1,949

$149 plan + $1,620 repair after 10% off + $180 est. energy (one season maintained)

With Standard$1,729

$199 plan + $1,530 repair after 15% off

With Premium$1,789

$349 plan + $1,440 repair after 20% off

In this scenario you keep $211 with Basic, $431 with Standard and $371 with Premium. Not counted: waived diagnostic fees (Standard and Premium), Premium’s no-charge service call and up to $500 in parts coverage, which add to your savings.

Illustration only, not a quote. Repair and system amounts are examples from typical industry figures: emergency repairs $300–$600, an $1,800 compressor repair, and system replacement $5,000–$12,000. Extra energy cost uses the low end of the industry estimate that maintained systems run 15–25% more efficiently, about $360 a year on a $200 monthly energy bill; Basic maintains one season, so half is counted. Industry figures from FieldCamp. Plan prices and discounts are Wrightway’s plan terms.

One avoided breakdown can pay for years of protection.

Plans start at $149 a year, less than the cost of a typical emergency repair.

Very nice, professional, helpful and a great price! We converted from an old steam radiator by oil system to gas HVAC and Wrightway did a great job. Doug, the owner, is a great guy. He worked to carefully plan out the ductwork. He is very knowledgable and careful and responsive. Thank you.

FAQ

Maintenance Plan Questions

What is included in a Wrightway maintenance plan?

We offer three plans, each covering one condenser and one air handler or furnace. Basic ($149/yr) includes one 20-point tune-up a year, 10% off services and repairs and 4% off new installations. Standard ($199/yr) includes a Spring A/C and a Fall Furnace or Air Handler 20-Point Inspection, 15% off repairs, 5% off installations, priority scheduling and no diagnostic fee on repair calls. Premium ($349/yr) adds 20% off repairs, a no-charge service call each year, up to $500 a year in parts coverage on select components and top priority scheduling.

How much does an HVAC maintenance plan cost?

Residential HVAC maintenance plans typically cost about $120–$400 a year, according to industry estimates. Our plans are priced in line with those averages: Basic is $149 a year, Standard is $199 a year and Premium is $349 a year, billed once a year.

What is the difference between Basic, Standard and Premium?

Basic includes one tune-up a year and 10% off repairs. Standard includes two tune-ups (spring and fall), 15% off repairs, priority service and a waived diagnostic fee. Premium includes everything in Standard plus 20% off repairs, a no-charge service call each year and up to $500 a year in parts coverage on select components.

Which plan should I choose?

Standard is the best fit for most homes because it covers both your cooling and heating each year. Basic works for newer equipment that only needs a yearly check-up of one system. Premium is designed for systems 10 years or older, where the extra repair discount, service call and parts coverage are most likely to pay off.

Is an HVAC maintenance plan worth it?

For most homeowners, yes. Industry estimates show maintained systems run 15–25% more efficiently and often last 15–20 years, compared with 10–12 years without regular service. Avoiding a single emergency repair, typically $300–$600, can cover the cost of a plan, and members save 10–20% on any repairs they do need.

How is the plan billed, and can I cancel?

Plans are billed once a year with a card on file and renew annually, with a minimum commitment of 12 months. After the first year, you can cancel any time with written notice to Wrightway Heating & Cooling. If your plan comes with a new installation, billing starts after the included first year.

Is a maintenance plan included with a new installation?

Yes. Every new system installed by Wrightway Heating & Cooling comes with a complimentary one-year maintenance plan. The Basic, Standard or Premium plan you choose takes effect, and annual billing begins, after that first included year.

Can I cover more than one system?

Yes. Each additional HVAC system is 15% off your plan price: $127 a year on Basic, $169 on Standard or $297 on Premium. You can also add a mini split ($149 a year for one outdoor unit and one indoor head, plus $69 a year per additional zone), a dehumidifier ($89 a year) or an ERV ($89 a year).

Does the plan cover the cost of repairs?

Plans include your inspections and a discount on repairs: 10% with Basic, 15% with Standard or 20% with Premium. Premium also includes up to $500 a year in parts coverage on select components. The plan is not a warranty on existing equipment, and other repair costs are billed separately at your member discount.
